A England, London Vibes collection

A England, London Vibes

Hello lovelies! Today I want to show you one of the newest A England collections: London Vibes (*), launched in summer 2019 by the British indie brand. The main inspiration behind this collection is – obviously – London, and each of the four nail polishes is named after an iconic place of the city.

The collection counts neutral, versatile colours with the typical flaming holo finish that interests many of the latest A England releases. Due to this special finish, these nail polishes also have a “satin” effect once dried.

To be honest, I have noticed a change in the formula. A England formulas used to be perfect, applied easily, smoothly and dried quickly, but these new shades are a bit worse than usual. They tend to be a bit thick, they do not apply as smoothly as usual and they need more time to dry. With just one coat you may easily notice some areas where the colour didn’t apply smoothly, but luckily the issue disappears after the second coat. Please not that I am not saying this is a bad formula – indeed, we are still talking of a very high quality nail polish! – but just that is a bit different from what A England usually offers.

A England, Camden Town

Let’s start with one of the most loved shades from the collection: Camden Town. I can’t describe it exactly – what I see is a nice colour between purple and brown. A England describes it as a dark terracotta flaming holo. This is the one with the strongest personality among the others of this collection, wich are more delicate and tender.
Actually, we should keep in mind that this shade is inspired by the most alternative quarter in London, so it had to be a strong personality!

A England, Carnaby Street

Carnaby Street is a lovely beige nude with pink flaming holo finish. It’s a delicate, sweet and versatile colour – ideal for those who appreciate wearing nudes.
It’s inspired by the homonym London’s street – cradle of the Swinging Sixties – where we can still find vintage shops and pubs that bring us back to the Sixties.

A England, Covent Garden

Covent Garden is a warm coral shade with gold undertones and flaming holo finish. It’s really a unique colour, which vaguely remembers me of my beloved The Godhead Fires from the Burne-Jones Pygmalion collection. I will make a comparison sooner or later, and when this happens I will post the result here.
The shade is inspired by Covent Garden, a square once born as a market and now filled with pubs, shops, boutiques and restaurants.

A England, King's Road

Last, but not least, my fave from the collection: King’s Road. I like it because it’s a nice neutral grey/beige which satisfies my need of neutral shades without being a nude – that I usually don’t like. Moreover, the flaming holo finish makes this nail polish even more magical. It is surely a very versatile shade that can be adapted to many different contests and to every season.

King’s Road is one of the main streets of London, that became the headquarters of fashion during the Sixties and the hub of the Punk movement during the Eighties. Nowadays it hosts a vintage market and it still is an important road that connects various areas of the city.

I like that this collection is fully dedicated to neutral shades that fit many different contests, and I like the flaming holo finish that makes these colors pop out. Unfortunately, I have never had the chance to visit London, therefore I can’t understand the inspiration behind these shades.

A England nail polishes are available via many stockists worldwide. I got them from the Italian online shop Guerrilla Nails, where I also have the chance to offer a 10% discount code (use code LADS10).

My favourites are King’s Road and Camden Town. What about you? Have you ever visited these places of London?
