Femme Fatale, Côte d’Opale
Hi loves!
Summer makes me feel the need to wear all the blue nail polishes I own, so that I can bring the sea even on my nails! Therefore, today I have a light blue nail polish to show you: Côte d’Opale by the Australian indie brand Femme Fatale.
Côte d’Opale belongs to the Nord-Pas-de-Calais trio created by Femme Fatale Cosmetics in collaboration with the super talented blogger Very Emily. I have desired this nail polish since I saw it for the first time, and discovering on Very Emily‘s blog what’s behind the creation of this trio increased my interest about Côte d’Opale. You can read what she wrote about this trio on her blog: Very Emily | Femme Fatale – Nord-Pas-de-Calais Trio.
Femme Fatale nail polishes come in a super elegant package: the 9 ml bottles are stored inside cute cardboard boxes. Formula is 3-free and vegan.
Since the Nord-Pas-de-Calais trio was a limited edition, it is almost impossible to find it on online shops. Anyway, you can find other beauties by Femme Fatale on its international stockists’ websites (in Europe: Nailland and Hypnotic Polish above all). Femme Fatale nail polishes cost about 10 € each.
I had very high expectations about Côte d’Opale, but sadly it didn’t look so gorgeous once applied on my nails. I like it and I find it beautiful and original, but I think that it loses a bit of its character.
What I noticed and really appreciated is the great attention dedicated to the formulation of this nail polish, which is a light blue with a pinkish shimmer and holo microglitter and colour-shifting flakies. Sadly on my nails all of this beautiful components aren’t as noticeable as I have seen in other girls’ swatches. I think that it’s probably due to my skin colour and that it would probably look amazing on girls with darker skin!
For what it concerns the formula, I have nothing to say: it’s easy to apply and it dries quickly. It’s a little bit sheer, but it is necessary to make the flakies stand out.
In my pictures you see three coats plus top coat.
And you? What do you think of this nail polish? Did you already know Femme Fatale Cosmetics?
Kisses
