Essie, Play Date

Hi girls!

Extra post today to show you a gorgeous nail polish by Essie in a very special Easter-dedicated packaging.

Essie has presented a special Easter Collection (available only in a few countries): 6 shades of the Essie permanent line packed into a plastic Easter Egg shaped box.

The nail polishes inside the “Easter Eggs” can be easily found in almost every part of the world, but this Easter-dedicated packaging is not available in every country: I don’t know exactly in which countries you can buy it, but surely in Germany and Austria, and probably also in Belgium (but I’m not 100% sure).

So, you can buy the nail polish inside the egg-shaped box only if you are in one of these countries. I bought it in one of my latest trips: in Germany and Austria it costs 9,99€, which is the price of any other Essie nail polish.

The nail polish I chose is named Play Date and it is a lovely soft purple with a creme finish. I find it a dark lavender violet perfect for spring.

Inside the glass rectangular bottle we find 13,5ml of nail polish that expires in 24 months. The white cap is quite short, but still easy to handle for nail polish application.

This nail polish formula does not contain DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde.

The brush is flat and large: generally I like these kind of brushes, but I think that this one is too large for me and so it does not guarantee a perfect precision.

The brush is the only one thing that I don’t like of this nail polish. The formula is just perfect: self-leveling, smooth and very easy to apply.

Play Date is fully opaque after two thin coats and dries in a very short time. This is a great thing, especially if you need to do a very quick manicure! 😀

This nail polish looks very glossy also without top coat, the nail surface is smooth and not streaky at all. It is also quite resistant so it lasts for a very long time.

I have never tried Essie nail polishes before, this is my first one! I had always heard enthusiastic opinions about this brand, and now I must say that I’m an Essie enthusiast too!

In Italy nail polishes by Essie cost quite a lot, so I had to wait for this trip abroad to buy my first three bottles! I can’t wait to show you the other two nail polishes 😀

I have been very happy to add Play Date to my nail polish collection. It is a lovely shade of purple perfect for every day but also for a special evening, and I think I will wear it a lot during this spring.

Have you ever tried any nail polish by Essie? What do you think of this brand?

Kisses and happy Easter!
