OPI – Red My Fortune Cookie

Good morning beauties!

Today I want to show you a beautiful bright red creme nail polish: Red My Fortune Cookie by OPI. I love red nails, they look so classy and elegant!

This nail polish was kindly sent me by Perfume’s club, an online perfumery that sells perfumes, make up, hair products, cosmetics and sunglasses. It has a lot of perfumes of many different brands and the prices are really good, and some products have also big discounts. There is also a good choice of many make up brands, such as Chanel, Dior, Guerlain, Clinique, Estèe Lauder, Lancôme, Elizabeth Arden, YSL, OPI, Collistar.

Now let’s see today’s nail polish!

OPI bottles contain 15ml of nail polish. That’s actually quite a lot! The cap is rough and allows a good grip. The brush is large and flat, it’s nice and easy to use, even if usually I tend to prefer smaller brushes.

Red My Fortune Cookie is a bright red creme nail polish. On my skin I noticed a pink/strawberry component, but in the pictures it looks more like an orange-red. I think it depends mostly on your skin colour and your undertone: on my hands the pink undertone of this nail polish is predominant, but maybe on another’s hand the orange component becomes more noticeable.

This nail polish has a thick, gel-like formula that’s applies very easily, just like butter 😀 It’s self-leveling and not streaky at all. It has a good coverage but I don’t think it could be considered as a one-coater: I needed two coats to completely cover my nail tips. This nail polish is glossy also without top coat, and it dries very quickly.

In my opinion the best way to wear this nail polish is with a glossy top coat, so that it becomes more resistant and lasts longer and it won’t lose it’s glossiness. Without top coat it has an average lasting: on my nails it lasted about 3 days before chipping.

This nail polish belongs to the Hong Kong OPI Collection (Spring 2010), but now it’s part of the permanent collection.

Italian price is about 13-16€, and I think that’s a good price if you think about the good quality, the peculiar colour and the big quantity of nail polish inside (15ml!!!that’s a lot!!!). On Perfume’s club it costs 13,54€.

In the past I didn’t like red nail polishes really much, but now I’m literally falling in love with them! Red My Fortune Cookie is really an original and bright red that is perfect for summer and spring but also for autumn. Red nail polish never goes out of fashion! Remember to wear it with a glossy top coat to make it look in the best way!
