How to do a DIY nourishing nail soak!

Hello boys and girls!!!

Today I want to talk you about a home made nail soak for weak and fragile nails.

This summer, after the 31 nail art days of OMD2 Challenge I had my nails in a very bad state. Then I passed my holidays on the beach, and – as you know- sea salt water isn’t a good thing for our nails’ health. At the end of summer I found that my nails were yellow, weak and very bad-looking. So I decided to cut my nails short and started caring them with this strengthening, whitening and nourishing nail soak. I must say that it has made miracles for my nails!

The first days I needed an intensive treatment, so I did it every day for a week. Now I’m doing it once a week and my nails look strong and healthy 🙂

This nail soak is very easy to do, and you will find all the ingredients in your kitchen.

Let’s see how to do it!

Ingredients:

  • olive oil
  • a lemon
  • baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
  • warm water

impacco

How to do it:

In a bowl mix 5 teaspoons of olive oil and 5 teaspoons of lemon juice. Then add 1 teaspoon of baking soda.
Then soak your nails for 15 minutes! If the quantity isn’t enough to soak your hands just add some warm water, or one teaspoon of oil and one of lemon juice.

What I like about this nail soak is that you can see immediately its results: your nails look istantly strengthened, whitened and good-looking! And they also smell of lemon and oil! 🙂 This nail soak also helps your nail growth: strong and nourished nails grow faster 🙂

The original recipe of this nail soak has only lemon and olive oil, but I decided to add also baking soda.

Olive oil is a natural nail strengthener, lemon juice is a nail strengthener too but it’s also whitening. But the best combo against yellow nails is baking soda+lemon juice, so I decided to add one teaspoon of baking soda. So we can say that it’s a 3 in 1 multi-action nail soak: whitening (thanks to lemon and baking soda), nourishing (thanks to olive oil) and strenghtening (thanks to lemon and olive oil). Just try it and let me know if you liked it!

What about you? Do you know any home-made recipe for nail soaks? What do you use to keep your nails healthy and strong? 😀

Kisses
